Introduction
The COVID 19 vaccine, like other vaccines, can cause immediate side effects. Side effects may range from skin rash and urticaria to life-threatening symptoms like anaphylactic shock. Various symptoms include hypotension, swelling or wheezing (difficulty breathing). Virtus Medical has launched the COVID-19 Pre-Vaccination Allergy Assessment and Testing Programme for people aged 5 or above who wish to receive the Comirnaty (BioNTech) vaccine.

Who should perform COVID 19 Pre-vaccination Allergy Assessment and Test ?
People with a history of immediate (onset within 4 hours) and severe allergic reactions to drug or vaccines containing polyethylene glycol (PEG). (“Severe” referes to occurrence of any non-cutaneous adverse reactions, including respiratory, cardiovascular or severe gastrointestinal)
People with a history of immediate (onset with 4 hours) allergic reaction to the 1st dose of BioNTech vaccine.
